Dr. Raj Shankar Ghosh is currently a Public Health Consultant. He was the Senior Advisor for Vaccine Delivery at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He is a physician with 30 years of experience in public health program policy, planning, and implementation. Dr. Ghosh has worked in a large variety of organizations that range from small field-level non-governmental organizations, State Health services, the World Health Organization, international developmental partners such as PATH and the Institute for One World Health, and donor organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has led a team of clinical researchers to develop drugs for neglected diseases like Visceral Leishmaniasis in South Asia; influenced policy decisions in new vaccine introduction in multiple countries in South Asia; and spearheaded public health program planning and implementation in India and Nepal. His current focus is primarily on advocacy for evidence-based policies and capacity building in public health institutions in India. Dr. Ghosh has multiple publications and has authored chapters on vaccines in books for pediatricians. He was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of Indian Public Health Association in 2014.
